Radar Observer Course (ROC)
The Radar Observer Course (ROC), often combined as ROC-ARPA or ROSC (Radar Observer Simulator Course), requires candidates to have at least 12 months of sea service as a deck cadet or rating, an INDoS number, a valid passport, and a CDC with documented experience. It is a mandatory DGS-approved course for navigation officers.
Eligibility
Sea Service: Minimum 12 months of sea service is required.
Rank: Open to deck cadets, ratings, or personnel preparing for officer in charge of a navigational watch.

Certificate of Discharge (CDC) showing sea service.
Medical fitness certificate (if required by the institute).
Age: Generally, candidates must be over 18 years old.
The course, which often lasts 10 days, includes practical simulator training and is essential for obtaining a Certificate of Competency (CoC) for second mates or deck officers.
