FAQ

STCW stands for the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers. For STCW course The candidate should hold an INDoS number on base of Passport and Class x marksheet.

INDOS number stands for Indian National Database of Seafarers. It's a unique identification number assigned by the Directorate General of Shipping in India to Indian seafarers. It helps in maintaining a centralized database of seafarers, ensuring their credentials, qualifications, and employment history are easily accessible and verified by statutory authorities such as Flag State, Port State, Immigration and Employers etc., to prevent the fraudulent issue of certificates. An INDos number consists of eight alphanumeric characters. Therefore, a seafarer without an INDos number will not be admitted to any DG Approved courses.

Seacom Marine College provides assistance in getting INDoS number for candidates who undergo the Basic STCW courses with us. The documents required for the same are copies of the original 10th Mark sheet, Passport, Passport size photo(white background).
